The Djinn and the Golem- A review in progress
I started a new book called The Djinn and the Golem, and I'm to around 100 pages.
+The scenery description is very good and not over the top
+Even the (so far) minor characters have interesting stories
- Unfortunately, it feels like the plot pauses to explain every character's life story (including one that hasn't met either title character yet). This could be important later but for now it's slowing the plot to a ridiculous extent.
- Jumping perspectives, I realize the MCs haven't met yet and the author needs to develop them but they aren't the only perspectives (see the above) and it can feel like filler.
